The Starship mission team is standing down for now, scrubbing its eighth test flight of the most powerful launch system ever built about six weeks after an explosive failure over populated islands.

SpaceX aims to launch its Starship on a test flight two months after its last ended explosively over the Atlantic.

Its last launch on Jan. 16 failed right after liftoff when the upper stage of SpaceX's uncrewed Starship rocket exploded minutes after liftoff, leading the aerospace company to declare the vessel a "loss." It was the seventh test flight of the heavy-lift spacecraft.
