The death of a 20-year-old Southern University student in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is being investigated by local law enforcement as a possible act of fraternity hazing, school authorities confirmed to The Associated Press on Wednesday.

More than 1000 people -- shoulder-to-shoulder in bleachers, on the ground and on folding chairs -- jammed the Clackamas Community College in Oregon City for a town hall with Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden and US Rep. Janelle Bynum.

The university's minidome, which has seen decades of Jaguar victories and graduations, instead hosted the Southern community in a time of sorrow.
