The FBI raided former national security Advisor John Bolton's home in Bethesda, Maryland, on Friday as part of a “national security investigation in search of classified records,” a source familiar with the matter confirmed to NBC News. The FBI declined to comment. Bolton did not immediately respond to NBC News' request for comment.
FBI agents reached Bolton’s house in Bethesda, Maryland at 7 am on August 22 in a probe ordered by FBI Director Kash Patel, the New York Post reported, citing a Trump administration official. In a cryptic post shared on X after the raid started, FBI Director Kash Patel wrote, “NO ONE is above the law…FBI agents on mission.”
