Firefighters are working to contain a grass fire that has burned dozens of acres on the southern end of El Dorado County on Wednesday. Cal Fire's incidents webpage shows the Coyote Fire has burned about 60 acres in the Coyoteville area, about 21 miles southeast of Placerville.
The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning beginning Thursday morning for Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles counties as high heat and monsoonal moisture bring an increased risk of fire starts and extreme wildfire behavior.
