The Trump administration will send the FBI on night patrols in the nation’s capital in the wake of President Trump threatening to federalize the District of Columbia, according to multiple reports.

According to Reuters, Trump is also "preparing to deploy hundreds of National Guard troops to Washington." He vowed to ramp up federal forces in D.C. and threatened a federal takeover of the capital after prominent DOGE official Edward "Big Balls" Coristine was injured in an Aug. 3 carjacking attempt.

President Donald Trump will hold a news conference Monday that he said "will, essentially, stop violent crime in Washington, D.C." The president promoted the news conference in multiple posts on his social media platform and on Sunday posted that it would "also be about Cleanliness and the General Physical Renovation and Condition of our once beautiful and well maintained Capital.
