The owner of the Dixie Cup plant in Wilson, who is spending millions of dollars to renovate the former factory into apartments, has acquired a neighboring building that was once an LA Fitness.

WILSON, Pa. - A long-vacant fitness center in the borough of Wilson, Northampton County, is under new ownership. Property records show the former LA Fitness property at 340 S. 25th St. was purchased for $6 million earlier this month.

The $153-million purchase, which gives LA Fitness more than 500 locations nationwide, is a smart move, experts said. LA Fitness picked up tens of thousands of members in prime markets.
