Ohioans have voted to authorize the issuance of $2.5 billion in general obligation bonds over the next 10 years to pay for roads, bridges and other needed infrastructure across the state.

Ohio voters on Tuesday approved the renewal of a bond measure that pays for infrastructure projects for the next decade.

Turnout was very low, but the Ohioans who did vote overwhelmingly supported the infrastructure bond program, which has been in place since 1987.
