Badar Khan Suri was being held in Texas and will go home to his family in Virginia while he awaits the outcome of his petition against the Trump administration.

A federal judge in Virginia ordered the government to release from custody a Georgetown University academic and foreign national who was arrested in March, dealing another setback to the Trump administration’s efforts to deport people it says pose national-security threats.

U.S. District Judge Patricia Giles said the government offered no evidence that Indian-born Badar Khan Suri posed a danger to the community.
