The Indian army says at least 4 workers have died a day after an avalanche swept away a large construction crew working on a highway near India's mountainous border with Tibet.

One of the 48 workers of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), who were rescued from the debris of an avalanche that hit Uttarakhand's Chamoli on Friday, died during treatment for injuries. Seven are yet to be retrieved.
