Amsterdam banned demonstrations for three days from Friday while giving police emergency stop-and-search powers after overnight attacks on Israeli soccer supporters, as the Israeli government said it would fly many fans home.

Prime Minister Dick Schoof canceled a trip to U.N. climate talks following the attacks, which erupted around a soccer match between Dutch and Israeli teams.

Dutch pro-Palestinian groups planned a demonstration outside the stadium during the game, arguing that the match should have been cancelled because of alleged Israeli war crimes i
