A Microsoft feature allows users to easily convert images of handwritten notes into Excel spreadsheets using their smartphones.

Microsoft Excel app on iOS gets new Insert Data from Picture tool. Users can snap photos of data presented in columns and rows and convert it into an editable Excel spreadsheet.

This feature sends an image to Excel's online image-recognition engine to process and convert the words and numbers into a table. And it can convert nearly two dozen languages.
