Superman was a hit at the box office, and showed the vision co-CEO James Gunn had for the DCU as a whole. The cast of Superman was led by Corenswet, who has a young daughter with wife Julia Warner. In an interview with ET he spoke about trying to balance his movie with being a father, saying:

In the Peacemaker: The Official Podcast with James Gunn episode covering the Peacemaker Season 1 finale, Gunn and actors Jennifer Holland (also his wife) and Steve Agee brought up the mention of Green Arrow in a… rather unflattering light. But it’s currently up in the air whether or not that moment remains canon in the DCU, with Gunn saying:

Season 2 of the DCU show is hitting HBO Max on August 21, and it directly follows the events of Superman. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gunn explained, “Superman leads into this show and then we have the setting up of all of the rest of the DCU in this season of Peacemaker, it’s incredibly important.”

Actor Sean Gunn, who plays Maxwell Lord in Superman, recently spoke about whether his character would serve as a villain in DCU. Sean is the brother of James Gunn, the co-head of the DCU. He will reprise the role in Peacemaker Season 2.
