A 16-year-old boy faces serious charges after Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies say he made a bomb threat while on a plane that arrived at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport Monday. The sheriff’s office said he was on a Spirit Airlines plane that arrived at the airport around 3:15 p.m. when he made the threat.

Dubbed Jovari Jetspeed, the expeditious system allegedly has the potential to slash “millions of hours and billions of expenses from air travel.”

Numerous flash floods had been reported across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, closing roads and highways, submerging cars, and stranding motorists, according to the National Weather Service. Metro-North reported suspensions of service on part of the Harlem line, and some delays on the New Haven line, as well, which has since been reopened.
