Horford, a 5-time NBA All-Star and 18-year veteran, finally captured his first championship in 2024. He still has enough left in the tank to give a contending team quality minutes in pursuit of another title, playing 27.7 MPG in 60 games for the Boston Celtics last season, averaging 9.0 PPG, 6.2 RPG, and 2.1 APG.

The Golden State Warriors are reportedly expected to be a top suitor for veteran center Al Horford when the NBA free-agent negotiating period opens Monday at 6 p.m. ET.

With that being said, a new report has come out that suggests Golden State could lose one of its key rotation pieces. According to a report from Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area, the Warriors are not expected to be able to retain Payton in free agency.
