Former Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Lorenzo Carter, who is 29 years old, is retiring from the NFL after seven seasons. Carter, a third-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft, spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the New York Giants from 2018-2021. Carter played with his hometown Atlanta Falcons from 2022-2024.
The Giants picked Carter 66th in the 2017 NFL draft after a career in which he helped revitalize the Bulldogs. In the final win of his college career—Georgia's epic victory over Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day 2018—he recorded a career-best 10 tackles.
Former New York Giants pass rusher Lorenzo Carter decided to call it a career on Tuesday, just months after landing with the Tennessee Titans in free agency.
