The Reds designated Jake Fraley for assignment just after he suffered a knee injury in Saturday's game against the Brewers.

Wade Miley, the well-traveled widely respected lefty, returned from Tommy John surgery to pitch 3 games for the Cincinnati Reds before a setback.

Fraley was pulled from the game due to injury, and the Reds immediately decided to DFA him. In a game where the Reds used everyone on their bench besides the backup catcher, Fraley gave it all he could before having to leave the field in extra innings.

The Brewers didn't so much barge through to beat the Reds in extra innings for their franchise-record 14th consecutive win on Saturday. Because of poor defensive plays and mistakes, Cincinnati essentially opened the door and let Milwaukee take the game.

The 27-year-old was demoted to Louisville a couple weeks ago but is back with the Reds after Jake Fraley (knee) was designated for assignment. Benson has a .224/.269/.415 slash line with nine homers in 61 MLB games this season and should step in as Cincinnati's No. 4 outfielder.
