Astros shut out again by Tigers, hit worst offensive drought in 40 years with extra-inning loss
For the first time since the 1985 season, the Astros have been shut out in three consecutive games after losing in 10 innings Tuesday.

McCormick should take some pride in his recent performances. He didn't allow a run during either the top of the ninth in Houston on Sunday, and he added a strikeout to a scoreless inning in the bottom of the eighth Monday in Detroit. The unexpected pitching appearance thrilled Astros fans, one of whom even captured a fan cam to mark the occasion.
The Houston Astros have their work cut out for themselves to take this series after falling in Monday's opener with the Detroit Tigers.
Logan VanWey made seven appearances earlier in the season for the Astros and has been at Sugar Land. Tayler Scott was designated for assignment.
