Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals is closing in on the NHL goals record of 894 held by Wayne Gretzky. Ovechkin has 884 goals and needs 10 to tie and 11 to break the record. Ovechkin entered the season 42 short of breaking the regular-season record by “The Great One” that had long seemed unapproachable.

While Gretzky’s status is secure, his scoring record is not. At the end of February, Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin trailed Gretzky by just 11 goals, putting him in line to potentially pass Gretzky by the end of the 2024-25 season.

Six-times MotoGP champion Marc Marquez continued his perfect start with factory Ducati as he completed a weekend double at the season-opening Thailand Grand Prix on Sunday, finishing ahead of his younger brother Alex.

Marc Marquez marked his Ducati debut with an impressive victory on Sunday at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand becoming the first rider since Casey Stoner in 2007 to win on their Ducati debut.
