Self-Help Credit Union was founded in 1983 and is a member-owned, federally-insured, North Carolina-chartered credit union. Our mission is to create and protect opportunity for all, especially people of color, women, rural residents and low-wealth families and communities. We do this by providing responsible financial services, lending to small businesses and nonprofits, developing real estate and promoting fair financial practices. We have 38 branches in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia serving more than 89,000 members with $1.7 billion in assets overall.
